Some sketch cards from the Disney/Pixar film "John Carter." I'm a huge fan of the book ("A Princess of Mars"), and the movie is a lot of fun, too.I'm not one to normally work so directly from photos and film stills, but I thought I'd try something different for these. These cards aren't a part of any official set or run, and I don't have any affiliation with Disney, Pixar, Dynamite Publishing, or Marvel Comics. These are just my original drawings based on photos and film stills.

Thanks! The book is a lot of fun; be prepared though, it's a bit outdated in its views on women and race. But if you take it for what it is--a fun adventure, you'll enjoy it!

saw this movie on friday and it was awesome! i'm a huge fan of the book too, and i thought they did a pretty good job of getting most of the elements of the book into the movie. it was great.

I'm dying to see this movie, actually. I've been looking for the book for a few years now, and everyone just cocks their heads to the side and acts confused when I ask for it at book stores. Well, now that the movie's out in theaters, it will probably be much easier to find it. My huge crush on Kitsch probably fuels me wanting to see it too.

The book is a classic of sci-fi, so I highly recommend it. Lots of differences between the movie and book, but that's to be expected.

A friend of mine actually wrote an article for an internship about that. She got exclusive information about production so she could compare.
