Fortune Street, or Boom Street, to you Europes, or Mario Tycoon Quest, for me, is a game that's basically like Monopoly with a twist, and with Mario+Dragon Quest characters. In the game, you spend your time going around squares that magically float above a location ( Like Delfino Plaza, from Super Mario Sunshine, or Castle Trodian, from Dragon Quest VIII ) which feels like a huge cop-out since visiting these locations really just amounts to visiting a background you don't actually interact with. Onto the comic, well...let's just say that playing on floating squares hundreds of feet above the ground while in first against vengeful players just wasn't the best idea, was it, Mario?
Sorry, no Dragon Quest here, just Mario. I don't hate the series, I just don't like it much.

It's been like that for a while when Square and Nintendo team up. So far, Geno's only reappearance was a doll in Mario & Luigi: Super Star Saga. At least you can hack him into Brawl...
I say make sure you do your research and have the people who are willing to play before you buy. It won't feel worth it otherwise.

Ugh, I can't decide if want to play this game or not. I just love Dokapon Kingdom too much; plus I don't really care for DQ that much either. That music is the most awesome cocktease ever, though!
In other news, Luigi is very yes in this comic. Very, very yes.

I'd say go for it ONLY IF you have family/friends who really like monopoly. Matches can drag on for a long time ( Minimum around an hour and a half, and that's with speed set to max and everyone moving quickly ), and the computer cheats ( I hate saying that, but I really can't say they don't cheat ) even at the easiest level. I haven't played the single player, but I can't really say I'd want to, and it's best played with four patient players instead of players+computers for this reason. If not, at least download the sound track, because it's seriously awesome, and is going to cause nostalgic boners of the highest caliber. It's hard to recommend otherwise, I'd say go for it, unless at least all of these reasons appeal to you.

Oh well! I guess it was only a matter of time til mature adventures happened to a child! At least it's creative, and despite the dark tones, I am actually a fan of multiple deaths anyway. They're interesting.

It's odd really. I can't stand seeing gruesome deaths in games, much less seeing them happen to a child, but for some reason I managed to watch all of Limbo on YouTube. The game itself is very interesting when you factor in everything that went towards its development. When you realize this poor kid can die so horribly and the fact death is unforgiving to anyone without exception or mercy, it shocks you in so many ways. The shock value comes more from the fact it's happening to a child and the fact everything is in this surreal black silhouette presentation.

It's all in the art form, really. Symbolism and all that jive. I know exactly what you mean, though, it really has a huge impact when you think about it, both figuratively and artistically. It's a beautiful game.

Indeed it is. I have to hand it to them. When a game looks and sounds that good, and does everything you expect without a shred of dialogue, it reminds you that famous paintings are much the same: they don't use words. It deserves the praise it gets. Playdead won't make a Limbo 2, but they are going to be making a new game that appeals to the same crowd.
The price tag has become a point of debate among gamers.

Well, you see, the difference between paying for, say, 15 dollars for a short game like Kirby and 15 dollars for a short game like Limbo, is that Kirby usually has many unlockables and much replay value. I guess I'm just looking at what it's worth. There was a sale when it was like four dollars, but I failed to pick it up at the time.

You make a valid point. Ultimately, it boils down to what you the player feel you get out of it in the long run. You don't need reviews from others to tell you how you should feel about a game. If you're curious, you give it a shot. Essentially, one asks themselves, "Will I be playing this game constantly or at a later date?".

It's really easy to share opinions with reasonable people! Besides, I'm sure we can easily agree to disagree when the moment arrives.
Yeah, no kidding. Just last month I spent 40 dollars, full price, on Sonic Generations for the 3DS. Most people would say to wait for a price drop, since the game lasts about 3 hours, but honestly, I feel I got my money's worth! That's just one example, though.

Exactly, just like how downloading Sonic Adventure from off of the PS3 is perfectly reasonable at the price they offered. It may be an old game, but one must remember it was the best selling Dreamcast game in its time. The game has some replay value that justifies the cost.

I think replay value has a lot to do with how much satisfaction a game can bring. It's why multiplayer games like Mario Kart are so successful.

Yeah, though sometimes it's not always what we wanted. It really sucks to pay full price, and then find out the game is just not for you, even after all the hype!
