I actually think even if they destroy the door, nothing will change for them. In my eyes, destroying the gate will create a new timeline/parallel world. That timeline is safe. But the current timeline will remain the same.

Yeah, I know what you mean. The explanation for this is very hypothetical and convoluted...I don't know exactly how Mashima is planning this to come out, but something tells me that the actual idea of breaking the door is not going to be the real solution to this arc...

I understand what you mean completely. This is how I don't get the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya or Steins Gate either. Just didn't think it would show up in my Fairy Tail. Next thing you know, Gold Roger is really Luffy from the future and Ace is really Luffy's son. Don't ask me. My opinion is invalid...
