This photo was taken at the Lloyd Center Max stop in Portland Oregon on our way home. Every day in Portland, we can count on missing our train at least once. No worry though, West-bound trains swing by every 10 minutes or so...'cept the trick is to board the right color train that takes us all the way home. Hop the wrong color train and we'll only get half way there, assuming the train doesn't turn around and take us back the way we came! (which has happened)
if you're not familiar with the public train system in Portland, it's always an adventure. You never know who -or what- you'll meet on the train. Street performers, hobos, druggies, crazies and other neat people. AND EVERY SiNGLE ONE OF THEM HAS AN i-POD!! GAH~!! Nothing makes you feel poorer than a homeless dude sitt'n next to you on the train home, bopp'n his head to tunes on his -possibly stolen- i-Pod.

Didn't they recently change the colors of routes? A friend of mine and I got on our usual color the other day and we came back to the same spot lol

Well, the Blue and Red Lines sometimes hop the Yellow route. You gotta take note of the City name on the front of the train. Blue "Hillsboro" goes all the way West and Red "Airport" goes all the way East. if the sign says otherwise on the Blue or Red lines, it usually hops the Yellow line route and swings back towards the Square or stops at its posted location.
if they changed the route colors recently, i wouldn't know what they would've been changed to. i was in Portland just last week, but we didn't take the Max.

Yeah, see that's what we forget to do. We never look at names. Only colors lol.
Take my advice, some colors are not your friend.

No matter where you go, you can meet interesting peaple no matter where you go and what you do...

@#*$ trains! That is why I only rely on my car, and also the fact that the closest subway doesn't go anywhere I need to go... but it would be easier to find far away places without having the scare of being in an accident from trying to read the Mapquest as I drive. I have almost caused to many rear enders.

You have such an adorable art style. Very cute and appealing to the eye. I just like how smooth and soft the line art is. Even the CGing itself is incredibly smooth-looking. I love the lack of black outlines, I think using coloured outlines (or if it's black, then it's very light) was a good choice here. It makes the characters blend in with the background much more that way and, for a moment, it makes you forget that they are not truly part of the picture. Great job on the shadows as well, it matches the photography quite well which also helps giving the viewer the illusion that the characters were originally part of this. Rarely do I see someone combine art and photography so well together. Usually it looks obviously fake but this is well pulled off.
Your character and Serena's character are precious together. And just as I told Serena, I'm quite happy that you two are now leaving together. I'm in a long distance relationship myself (as you may or may not know) and it's always nice to see people who were serious about it and made it work. =] Best of luck to the two of you.

i appreciate the details in your comment. i've got lots of photos lined up that i intend to mess with. Some of which i took specifically for this kind of thing. My process is probably loads simpler than you'd think. When i colored this, i made sure to color the lines as well to give a soft look to make 'em blend in with the photo...and i guess it worked!

I Feel So Horrible For Taking So Long To Comment On This Wonderful Piece Of Yours. Really, I Am. But, I've Been Able To Show You In Other Ways How Thankful I Am For The Things You Do, Right? I Sure Do Hope So. If Not, I Can Always Come Up With Much Better Ways. Much Better Ways.
Anyway, I Remember When You Took That Photograph. It Was So Long Ago. It's Real Nice To Know That You Finally Used It For Something. You Must Really Love My "Uber Pants". Then Again, I Know You Do, So What's The Point Of Even Bringing It Up? During The Winter Or Whenever You're Able, You're Always Asking Me If I Can Wear Them. Why You Like Them So Much I'll Never Know, But I'll Try Not To Think About It Too Much. As Long As I Look Good To You In Whatever I'm Wearing, I'm Perfectly Happy.

All In All, Though, This Is An Amazingly Done Piece That Has Left Me Breathless. Like Most Of Your Artwork, I Could Never Get Tired Of Looking At It. Sit on any random car and take a look in any direction. You will find AT LEAST 5 i-Pods in either direction. Then there are the girls swapp'n spit and sharing one pair of ear-buds. Mostly Japanese girls.
Remember last week? Two girls got kicked off the bus for suck'n face on Tri-Met. That made me laugh. i'm not against PDA or homosexuality, but i don't want to watch ANYBODY of ANY two genders getting touchy in public.
