Phew, this one took a bit longer than expected but here it is - a scene from the first fight between Jiren & Belmod! Well, for my story anyway. I wish it came out a bit more dynamic, but I wanted to show off Belmod's special attack as seen in the manga... and also Jiren's homeworld! Was good fun to paint those details.
The story behind this is that it happened quite a while back when Jiren was a young adult - and before he became a Pride Trooper. Belmod has become aware of a 'powerful warrior' in the universe, but doesn't know that it's Jiren right away. Nonetheless, he is ordered to destroy Jiren's home planet Cal'or because it's deemed a 'waste of space' - meaning, it has no civilization (anymore), no technology nor progression. It's just there, and Jiren is the only inhabitant. Belmod being a fair God of Destruction, does go down to inform Jiren that he should leave the planet and find a new place to call home, before he destroys it - "This place has seen death, destruction, despair... don't you want that to be erased from you life?"
Of course, Jiren being Jiren isn't going to take orders from some 'god' and so he challenges Belmod to a fight for the planet. If Belmod wins, he can destroy it. But if Jiren wins, he gets to keep his home. Belmod is very intrigued that a mortal dare challenges him, so he accepts. Soon, he comes to realize just how powerful this warrior really is...

Thanks so much ^^ yeah, I wish we got to see more of Jiren's backstory. It's clear they had to rush with it, seeing how brief it was... I wanted to know more! But at least I can have fun writing my own headcanon for that (like I've been doing right now)

I kind of like the idea that Jiren fights off Belmod much like Goku did for Beerus during their first meeting. Only, the direction of Jiren and Belmod goes a totally different way afterwards... which I think works very well. I also like how Belmod looks, here! Look at that face of his. He knows he's still in control, even if he hasn't got that usual arrogant smirk on his face and even if he knows it's more of a struggle than usual when against Jiren. Nice stuff.

Yeah, in the story I have planned out, there are some 'parallels' in life that they share with one another 
But yeah thank you ^^ I wanted to show that Jiren did struggle in his first fight with Belmod - but all at the same time, Belmod is intrigued by him and his power too and has to actually try

I do hope Goku will be able to fight Beerus in a true rematch, and not with Beerus in a Monaka costume (as funny as that was). The series, as a whole, tends to only have one rematch with someone, although Vegeta kind of gets away with a few, depending if you want to count blue watery Vegeta from DBS, or Baby Vegeta if you want to count GT. I want to see Goku at his maximum power vs. Beerus!

Haha thank you so much! ^^ I just started writing recently (I haven't done so in yeeears!) but yeah, I'm super hyped to start writing a big story about Jiren and the other characters he meets through life. I'll be sure to do more illustrations to go along with the chapters as I go.

Yeah, this is from their first fight. Jiren wins this one, but he had to fight really hard for it.
They have another fight years later when he's a Pride Trooper (because Belmod wanted to be sure of his strength, and offer him the GoD position), and by then Jiren's a lot stronger and more composed and doesn't have nearly as much trouble as he did here.

I think, no, in that age he should be at the same level as a ssj3, like goku, if it is his first time, second he has lower expereince seen his master death, so he has short options, and yeah, this art is excellent.

Actually, this fight takes place about 12 years after his Master was killed (in my story anyways). And during that entire time, he did nothing but train and live. Unlike Goku, he had no family or friends to spend time with and not to mention, Jiren had never lost a fight since the Evil-doer. He didn't care for anything else besides strength. Not to mention, he was light-years ahead of Goku in terms of strength and power, pretty much nullifying all his forms with just his base/suppressed self (until Goku got Ultra Instinct of course, then he had to try hard)
Belmod also speaks highly of him, and seems very well aware of how strong he is. Belmod also said "I haven't seen Jiren use this much power in a long time" when Jiren powered up, which means Jiren was still very powerful, even a long while back.

Well of course he was less powerful when he was younger
I haven't worked out a final age for him yet, but he's close to Goku's age in my headcanon. But since he's never been in a hyperbolic time chamber and hasn't died before, his age would be different to his regardless. He was forced to grow up very quickly, compared with Goku who had a rather positive childhood.
But yeah I decided not to make him extremely old, based on how he behaves (especially in relation to his past) and I figured it wont be good if he was solitary for TOO long, or else it'll be much more difficult for him to snap out of his past beliefs.

still a insult to nerf a charcater, especially the new ones, and the non relevant ones, a dumb decission from Toei animation; but in this case is more logical that Jiren young self is only at the level of a ssj3 than better, so I think that in the best idea should be,asking Jiren, if he wants to train with him and Marcarita, so he can become the strongest warrior as he is on the oturnament, don't you think that this should be better?
