This is a spoiler scene from both the fanfic/fanmanga I'm creating as well as a gaia RP I made to assist me in bringing forth such a story. (even I get writer's block/ Artist's block)Gin's got his memory back (as well as a hair cut) As for Rin...
Rin was taking on an espada, one that was sealed away during the Winter War, but was freed a few years after. Rin's taken on powerful hollows before but once this one released his Resurreccion he proved far too much for Rin to handle.
And if your wondering about those swords near Rin... that's Shuntensetsu ('Instant Death' or 'Instant Heavenly Kill') Rin's bankai (I know, I give him too much power for a child) At this time Rin is eight, he has achieved both shikai and bankai, however he's nowhere near mastering either, he's still an inexperienced fighter.
Anyway Rin got himself in a pretty tough situation trying to fight the espada... however... Gin stepped in... and despite the seemingly permanent smile... he ain't very happy

Yeah... where has he been?... well lets say Rangiku and Gin were on a mission in Italy (mission details aren't really important) what is important is that they were working on more than their mission and while they were away from the Seireitei... and that's the story of how Rin came to be. Why nobody knew about him for a good while was because at birth he was too unstable to pass through a senkaimon so he was left in the care of an Italian Shinigami until he was able to travel to the Seireitei without complications.
Rin's introduction to the Seireitei is pretty funny...So some unidentified person breeches through security and gets into the seireitei, and you have the whole ryoka hunt sort of thing, and much to everyone's surprise their intruder is a little kid, and what shocks everyone most is when their intruder addresses the third captain as 'papa'.
Poor Gin's got a lot of explaining to do...

I donno... little Rin's pretty defensive about Gin and tends to be a bit of a kicker... It won't take a lot of power just one kick in the right spot.
