Also, do females have only 2 arms instead of 4 or did you just changed the desing of the species over time?

I have imagined a four armed alien species aswell in the past but could never really make out a working physiology for these extra limbs. also I find it hard to imagine the use (in idle positions, combat or whatever) of four arms.
I looked at Bungie's Destiny for refferences but still find it odd how the "Fallen" in this game basically never use their extra pair of arms ... :I
