for the time being i will keep the artwork like this, will update again til i come up with a cooler designs for her skin

-----------------------------------
updated again on 22 sept
-----------------------------------
all the problems here are all composition problems. and also because of my laziness, i wanted to draw horns comming out of her body, but i am just too darn lazy >

so the previous one has hair covering her bottom, it makes bad composition so i removed it.

and i also make the skin more bloody.

and i changed the name from 'Dragonfly Girl' to 'Nymph'

updated on 24th sept
------------------------------------------
made some shadow changes and some color reflection/overlays

this is the last update

updated again on Oct 05

goddamn, this pic is so bad i kept updating it. i make the character green now, because she is a nymph

and i also make all the unimportant back and foreground blurry. dont want these to clusterf*** the viewers

The good thing is is that it already came out nice. All it needs is some minor details and retouching so you don't need to start from scratch

I love the background (I fail with scenery).

(and if you're looking for a critique)

Something about her is off, like the shape of her face or something.
I feel the water should have been a bit higher because the wings look like they're going deeper in to the water than her hands or thighs, unless the water if deeper behind her.
It might be me, but the torso looks like we're looking directly at her but the legs back it seem here looking down at an angle. So, I'm not sure how take her pose...
I wish the rocks in the foreground were more defined (unless you just stopped on the artwork and never plan to finish it). Her skin looks weird, like you tried to add texture but it's too big. I though maybe it was scales you didn't finish by I'm not sure...
I love the faint misty glow to the picture. The details and colours in the wings are wonderful. Her shape is wonderful, I have trouble with anatomy myself. And unlike my work your women don't look flat. You really know how to work with the shadow and colour to really show the curves of the body.

yea i agree with all the problems you see , and like i said this painting was rushed out to meet a contest deadline here are the things i will do, 1) erase the wings, make a new better one, 2) make grasses to cover the ugly fingers and legs, 3) draw lots of cute animals like butter flies and iguana. and thnx for the kind comment

Now, I really want to see you finish this. You always make such beautiful art and I've always liked your style.
I was afraid you might have taken my critique the wrong way. I'm glad you didn't exploded on me.
I've always critique art in my head but never typed it up.
I decided I should finally start, in hopes that communicating with other artists will make me a better artist too. Learning from the goods and bads of others and myself, I suppose.
