This is another infographic from the Atlas Altera World Cup series. The map in the newspaper clipping shows the results of the group stage of the Meditera World Cup, and all around it is some humourous content dusted in a layer of lore (i.e. the newspaper is from ATL Australia, which is located on the alt-geo Kerguelen microcontinent, where the OTL Newfoundland culture and general history was relegated in Altera). The language of the newspaper is mostly English with sprinklings of unique words, phrases, and grammar from the OTL Newfie dialect, all rendered through SoundSpel, an English spelling reform proposal that got some minor traction in OTL Australia. The newspaper itself has some cringey references to OTL Newfoundland: The Shipping News (which Newfoundland author Michael Crummey berates) and that humble little town from OTL Newfoundland that Jimmy Kimmel discovered.

Our first map for this series on the world cup was this one, featuring the locale and venues of the World Cup. We also made a time-based kick-off map and a transportation-themed map . We also posted this road map or World Cup regional qualification scheme map .
