I can try! My friend did some digging. It seems that she does actually read her fan mail. It's read by Bloomsbury first though. They filter out all the unwanted mail and then pass on the nice ones to her.

I think that happens to a lot of the Potter children. I read her books as a teenager, so back then I already realised the imact they and she made on my life. But when I look back I still didn't realise that it made such a big imact. What they say is true - Harry Potter is a life style.

just goggled and it came out end of 2001 so I would have been 6 at the time
I read the first book about 6 months later if what my parents tell me is correct
