The nanite transformation process has fully converted all her biological tissue into the pink synthetic substance that resembles latex. As mentioned, she is still sentient and aware of her condition, in fact she has a greatly heightened sensitivity and is in a constant state of arousal but her free will is enslaved to the nanites. Once the nanotech injection has been administered, the process is irreversible and permanent.

This question relates to the identity death, which as you know is a very polarising subject. For this story I've deliberately left the answer ambiguous as I'd like the reader to draw or apply their own conclusions.
However, as the author, my view is that whilst she has been fully synthesised and her free will has been buried under a mass of protocols and programming, she is still sentient.
