Description
The first of two sketch commissions for the always-wonderful Miss of her bastardly characters Lord Orcair and his daughter Lady Edessa, both aspiring pretenders to the throne.I hope you like it!

You must have a much better scanner than mine. My pencil sketches never scan this good.

Argh, I know, it's ridiculous. D: I was just telling someone that I seriously have to take a little break and draw one of my own guys, because I can see the burnout coming... 
God, my scanner is SUCH a piece of shit. Seriously, sometimes it just stalls and won't restart and the only way I can get it to do anything is to unplug the power supply. The only reason it picks anything up well as it is, is because I have to change the default settings EVERY DAMN EFFING TIME I SCAN SOMETHING, otherwise it sharpens it to hell and back and scans at a shit resolution BY DEFAULT, and I can't change it so it'll load up my settings automatically. It is the STUPIDEST SETUP EVER. I hate my horrible POS scanner.
Maybe the reason yours isn't picking up so well is because your settings are as messed up as mine are before I change them? I always turn sharpening off, don't do anything with exposure or contrast or anything, and scan at 300 dpi. When I pull the dirty crappy scan up in PS, I play with Levels to get rid of some of the paper crud that's always gunking up my lines.

All these sketches are being done in pencil. I use an 003-size drafting mechanical pencil with HB graphite.

Oh there is nothing wrong with going nuts on clothing detail, at all! I do it with folds all the time!

I've tried using thicker ones, but they were just too clunky! Of all the pencils I've tried, these definitely give me the best line. I don't let anyone else use it, though, for just that reason... other people tend to break the lead pretty quick!

One reason why I don't let people use my drafting pens because I get them and the tip is like crammed up in the pen or its like bent.
