FAQ
What's the purpose of Patreon?
The primary purpose, for me, is to enable me to do more personal art and work on my own projects without sacrificing my income. The reason I rarely drew my own characters last year was because I felt I couldn't divest from commission work very easily, as I had bills to pay! However, with Patreon, I'm hoping that it will take the pressure off, and enable me to share more of my own characters, ideas, and stories! Plus, Patreon is changing their payment structure starting in May, so it was better for me to sign up now, rather than later.
Will you still be doing commissions?
Yes! I won't be doing them at nearly the same pace as I was before, but that's because I hope to be doing more personal art with the help of Patreon. However, I'm going to do my best to cut down on my existing wait list, as it's still kind of long and some folks have been waiting a while. I still plan to do about 4 per week depending on size. I know how much joy some of you guys get from commissioning me, and I don't want to take that away.
Will any art be Patreon-exclusive?
Non-patrons won't see any changes to what I post. I want my art to remain accessible to everyone, which means I'll keep sharing the same stuff that I always have. However, those on Patreon will get bonus content that I wouldn't otherwise post, such as work-in-progress/alternate shots of past and upcoming artwork, full resolution copies of art, sneak peeks at upcoming things, etc. Nothing is being taken away from non-patrons, so don't worry! Patreon is just for bonus content.
Is your graphic novel Patreon-exclusive?
Nope! Pages will be shown a week early to people at the $10 tier, but otherwise all pages will be published eventually. Additionally, I currently don't have a release schedule for the pages, since the format is very new to me. Once I get more comfortable with it, I might create one.
Do I need to stay a patron to get my name in the credits of things you make?
Yes. I'm aware that large projects take time, and that means potentially subscribing for the $1 tier and not having your name appear in anything for a while. However, I plan to amend this by drawing thank you posts periodically, with all my Patreon's usernames being a part of it. It would provide the same function as a credits sequence for an animatic or comic, and it wouldn't be too hard to produce so I can do them multiple times per year.

I hope this helps, and if anyone has any questions, please leave a comment below! I hope you guys are all as optimistic as I am about this. I'd love to have the flexibility to share more of my own ideas, and draw more of the characters you guys enjoy seeing. I want to see more of them too! Whether you become a patron or not, thank you guys for all the support you've given me the past few years, whether it's by commissioning me, leaving me kind comments (even if I don't reply), sharing my art with friends, or just being there for me when I needed it. I really appreciate it and love you all very much. Cheers!
