This piece is made entirely from wire chainmaille or chain links made from twisted wire. There is not a stitch in this dress. The chain links were decorated with fabric scraps and beads as they were added to the dress. This is not your typical wire weaving which would be stiff and hard to move in. This is free moving flexible chainmaille.
I wanted a piece that would be very fairy or nymph like in nature, something that would insinuate a mermaid who got her legs and the wire chainmaille method was a good fit. I used a brass and steel wire mix to create this piece. All but some of the beads in this piece are recycled. All of the fabric scraps and wire are also recycled.
So here I go releasing my baby to the world. o_o

I love this it really does invoke the feel of and an image of a sea nymph or mermaid I also love how you used recycled materials to do this your dedication to your work shows I plan on buying some of your necklaces an such for my wife in the near future.

What captured my attention first was the picture itself.
But then I read the description and I realized that this dress had a lot of time invested on him. Kinda reminds me of a imaginary world, with fairies and other mythical creatures.
Congrats it his wonderful, and you're very talented!

Thank you! The design was interesting as it came together, because I wasn't entirely sure about how I wanted it to look when I started making it. I love working with recycled materials, the just give an item a certain feeling that you can't get with new materials.

I love photography....I love clothes...but not many fit me because i'm a weird shape...I have a long torso, long legs, my shoulders are broad, ....it's just a mess lol but that dress was super pretty!

That's too bad, I guess that is one reason I like making clothing, because I can create to my own shape, I too have broad shoulders and long legs (it was impossible to find pants that would fit my waist and leg length in a store). haha I always looked dorky as a kid because my pants were always too short. XD

You sure did put your heart into this piece! You can see the obvious effort put into it, I can't picture how difficult and frustrating making wonderful art can be at times.
