I drew the Spaceship and Sun in Autodesk Maya. Rendered using Mental Ray for photo quality look.

Based on Isaac Asimov's Foundation book series, this emblem represented the Galactic Empire that stood for over 12,000 years. The source of this image was the cover of the "Prelude to the Foundation" book which is a prequel of the original Foundation series. On the cover was this emblem above Hari Seldon. Since the book came out while Asimov was still alive, I assume the emblem had his blessing even though it doesn't quite match what he described in his original book.

That said, I really do like this interpretation of the Empire's Spaceship and Sun. I originally drew this in Illustrator and then imported it into Maya. It's available in high resolution download.
