so a journal is nice but this should get me more views(hopefully)i am currently open to penpal requests but when i do have a couple of rules;
please only ask to be my penpal if you are over the age of 20, i am not a child and i really would rather not have child penpals, sorry
please only ask to be my penpal if you do not intend to send any letters
please respect that i am not looking for a boyfriend/girlfriend
if at all possible i would like to write mostly in english
i have nerve issues in my hands and my handwriting has gotten quite atrocious so tolerance is needed(my letters will be a bit shorter as well)
you have to like stickers. this rule is iron-clad, no getting around it<3
to sum myself up, i am a househubby. i like to make crafts(clay, paper, bead, does not matter) when i am able. i do not go to school and i have a fondness for books, gardening, cooking and miniatures(especially sylvainan-scale). i own a tv but don't use it, i am not really into pop culture but i am very fond of history and while my understanding is spotty i do take pride in learning what i can. i have 4 cats & 2 dogs and i really, really like stickers

Hmm, a shame you won't accept people under 20, really. It's not like everyone under 20 years of age is a moron or even a child.Β
However I respect all other rules, if that counts for anything at all. I find it rather sad that people have exchanged pen and paper for keyboards and screens and love the whole penpal concept.Β
It just depends on your tolerance of having a fourteen-year-old penpal, really. Please reply to this if you're willing to overlook that

well you have to look at it from my point of view, not only is my experiences in life quite different(you are a fair bit younger than my baby sister with whom i have little in common) which makes a concise and pleasant exchange difficult should my penpal try to do or say anything that can be perceived as sexual(or their parents think there is a possibility of it) it is grounds for my arrest. i am not stupid and i have seen plenty of issues from with grown men(and sometimes women) getting in a loooot of trouble because a. the person they talk to is a minor who got the wrong idea, or b. is a minor who got angry at them. my lack of interest does nothing to lessen the suspicion that i am some creepy pedophile the moment i associate with a child. this is just the part that makes it externally difficult, on a much more important level i would not know what even interests you? most of my interests are older than you are X''D pogs,Β movies from the 80's and 90's, how stupid it is to be a renter AND a gardener, deals at the grocery store, astronomy, how much it sucks to wake up with back aches, thrifting, the original series of things that are in their second third or even fourth incarnation(and how silly people were then) consoles from the 8bit and 16 bit era, computers from BEFORE 2000, my fiance's desire for children and the difficulty of adopting with a disability, recipes that call for a minimum of 5 spices none of which are 'salt' 'pepper' 'sugar' or a buyable mixture, doctors, the little kids on my block who /still/ play in front of my yard sometimes despite the tree having been cut down, the abundance of art thieves online and the laws they are breaking(in depth), driving, managing and maintaining a household, people-watching(almost none of whom are school-age or younger), the economy(and the politicians/laws/government contracts) and how firings reforms and restructurings would or would not change it, the joys of thrifting, the trials of buying retail, and my offline friends(the youngest of whom is going to be 23 in a week which is a whole two years older than my youngest online friend)
and those are just the technical reasons for it, my own personal feelings is that i have almost nothing of value to say to anyone who talks about the stuff from when i was a teen, it was boring and petty and limited ten years ago when it was my life, it is boring and petty and limited now that i have well and truly grown out of it. i would be a terrible penpal to a young person unless this young person only talked about things that are not restricted to age(such as the weather and king henry the 8th). you would be better off talking to someone who could enrich your life not someone you'd struggle to find common ground with

Hmm, very good points. However I would not dream of sending some form of sexual suggestion to someone I had never met. If I received it, which you seem unlikely to do, I would indeed report it as you said. It's very similar to the things that go on during cyberbullying. I know that it is dependant on person-to-person, but I don't think those things should be ruled out before you know who may be invloved.
And surprisingly I enjoy those kinds of things. Talk like that makes me strangely happy, and I believe I am more than capable of dealing with it.Β
As for topics, I don't much bother with so much modern culture. Music, maybe, but not social media or fashion. It simply doesn't enthuse my life like history, ancient culture, science and everyday goings-on.Β
What I suggested was that while age is restricting, before you rule things out because of it you should take into account the person. I'm not too upset that you don't want people under 20 as penpals because now you've really explained your point and I appreciate it. But, if you ever think you could turn it around, I'll be open to that.
