Those are awesome costumes...there really ought to be a Persona 4 team competing in Japan's Super GT series.

I'm not familiar with these alternate costumes. Are they from Persona 4 Golden?

These are actually based off of some older fanart that was done back when Persona 4 was originally released!Β

I like the Cosplays, but the car fan in me is more interested in the car.
Because of the body kit I can't place the make

My first thought was a Mazda. I was totally off based with it being customed, pathetic me. I should just stick to Formula One!

I appreciate the compliment, but I do think you should keep stuff like that to yourself. It's pretty rude to leave a comment on someone elses work saying they're "not youre type" - None of us spent so many hours on our costumes in hope that they'd be your type.Β

"You're a jerk."
^see how that doesn't help at all? It just throws out a negative term based on personal opinion without providing concrete explanations or the constructive criticism necessary for improvement.
"You're a jerk because "not my type" is in context both a negative statement and one that offers nothing for the artist to improve with."
^see, this is better, because it gives a specific *reason* for the negative statement, it explains what, in my opinion, you did wrong. However, it still doesn't offer a suggestion for what to do right.
"You're a jerk because you're being negative and not offering anything constructive. You should, instead, say something like "this character seems out of focus" or "In the ref images I've seen the costume piece is a much deeper red.""
^this is much better, and also the absolute minimum you need in a response to not be labeled a whiny, know-nothing troll. The problem is that it's still got a tone of arrogance and has the sort of statements that might be valuable in a critique response but are not really appropriate for the sort of casual attitude in dA comments.
"You should maybe consider phrasing your objections concretely and offering suggestions for improvement. What you've said so far comes across quite harshly."
^this is pretty good; it offers a concrete description, a suggestion for improvement, and it neither implies you suffer a lack of moral character nor purposefully attempted to hurt anyone's feelings.
""
^this is one of two ideal options; if the artist hasn't requested feedback/criticism and you're neither their friend nor recognizably superior in technique and asked for tips all the time, it's both more constructive and polite to keep your mouth shut.
"Hey pal! Lookin' good, I especially like the use of similarly shiny grades of latex in all three costumes. The framing doesn't play up Rise's face as much as it could, though--what's up with that?"
^the other of two ideal options first assumes that you have a friendly relationship with the artist, then opens with an affirmation of the effort and skill that went into the piece, and concludes with a *question* about the composition. This exhibits humility and friendship as well as an interest in the piece and an opportunity for the artist to explain their piece. It avoids the Dunning-Krueger effect that we're all prone to, where we assume we're experts and offer baseless opinions that make us look like total jackasses to anybody that actually knows what they're doing, while at the same time both points out to the artist that we may disagree with them and allows us to learn if it was done on purpose for reasons we aren't yet aware enough to understand.
Also, tenleid's the Chie cosplayer, Β not the photographer.
