so this is the remake of [link]I actually have been itching to redraw some of my older stuff cuz... well they kinda suck
so the thing that bugs me about this pic is that, when I first drew it, it looked so wonderful in my head that I was really excited about working on it.... and then after it came out, it wasn't exactly what I was hoping for...
well this isn't bad but the picture just looks "flat" to me.. do you see? there's tons of blue in there but there's not enough contrast so everything looks on the same level except for the shiny water. the character blends with the bg too much <.<
and maybe I overdid it with the white dots too (which is supposed to be splattering water drops lol)

o.o I think this is the most beautiful and inspiring things I have ever seen, honestly. I don't think this is flat at all and you definitely used the right amount of water drops. The girl is beautiful and professional looking to no end, and it's just.... wow. Amazing job, excellent, excellent work. I WISH I could draw like you.

The reason why it looks flat is because of the line...the line art should be much darker..i know because i coloured my lineart before and they always came out like you said.."flat looking". If you like them to have colour, i suggest you make the lines a darker shade of the colour you want them to be--almost black, but not quite. I hope that helps! >u<

XDD thank you, I just usually mess with hue and satuation/ color balance with my shades to make them more virbrant~~~
and ahhh that makes sense... ok so I color the lineart in order for the character to blend with the bg, but now I feel like I don't want it to blend TOO much lol so I guess I'll make them darker again~~ so contradicting XD

Yep yep, she is from a game called Touhou. Although an Anime is made but its by fans, its nothing official. You may watch it if you want~ ^^
Cirno is like a very small fairy that can fly and is not very bright but she is sooo cute~ xDDDD
