Let's imagine that one of the main theories is true and Sherlock jumped to that truck with garbage. So he hurt his left hand quite seriously and got some bruises. And so as he needed to hide somewhere he went to Mycroft.

It wasn't a garbage truck. It had high sides when we first see it but not when it drove off. It was some sort of delivery truck: perhaps with something in it that Sherlock fell on, that broke the fall?
