I love the static feel given to the person and their corner. It's very in the moment but gives a sort of spacey mood.

my personal standards for myself for stuff like this are higher, and this doesn't quite meet since i didn't put as much effort into it

hehe. it's charcoal. O_O so messy! hehe, my scanner is all smudgy now~ you could probably get the same thing with a black pastel, but i like using charcoal more. and you can get charcoal pencils ^^ which cut down a bit on messyness. hehe, just a bit.
yeh, i think you're right. kinda a depressing picture... all lonely and sad
