Not how I saw it in my mind, but I still like this. I saw them more like side by side with calm smiles on their lips, with their arms crossed over their chests.

I had seen this picture before, but didn't have context.
I finished Hero of Ages about two minutes ago. As soon as the scene was described, this image found it's way into my mind.
It gave the end so much more clarity, to me.
Thank you for making the end of my now favorite series that much better.

Glad you like it! Yeah, the image popped pretty much the same way into my mind as well. I saw it so clearly and I just had to draw it.

I imagine death so much it feels more like a memory
Is this where it gets me?
On my feet?
Several feet ahead of me?
I see him coming
Do I run, or use the power, or let it be?
There is no beat, no melody
Ruin. My first friend, my enemy
Maybe the last face I ever see
If I charge him now
Is this how you remember me?
What if these flames are my legacy?
Legacy!
What is a legacy?
Itβs planting seeds in a garden you never get to see
I wrote some notes at the beginning of a book someone will read of me
Empire, you great unfinished symphony you sent for me
You let me trust again
A place where even skaa orphans can find a friend and
Rise up
Iβm running out of time Iβm running and my times up
Wise up
Eyes upβ¦.
I catch a glimpse of the other sideβ¦
Clubs and Dockson call from the other side
My brotherβs on the other side!
Heβs with my mother on the other side!
Kelsier is watching from the other side!
Teach me how to say goodbye
Rise up!
Rise UP!
RISE UP!
ELEND!
...My love. I wonβt be far behind.
Iβll see you on the other side.
...thereβs always another secretβ¦

I avoided the comment section of this picture until I finished the book... which was like an hour ago... I might have first thrown the book, picked up, then finished it crying. Ah this moment....

That scene was so beautiful and sad! I just couldn't help but feel so devastated at the fact that neither of them got to see the earth renewed and restored to normal.Β

I was so sad, this is such a great representation of the end... I love the emotion captured in this... It's like loosing friends I never new I had.Β
If you don't mind, I would like to invite you to help me with something. I am a YouTuber with a new running series called "Letters from the Cosmere" It is a project about a character named Aarik who travels the Cosmere and is writing letters about his experiences. This is something I have discussed with Brandon Sanderson in person about and had his help crafting how these videos would work. In these videos I have been working with fans of the series who make art like yours in order to make the video better, and to highlight the fantastic creations of Brandon Sanderson fans. If you would be interested, I would love to showcase this in an upcoming episode titled "Adonalsium and the 16 Shards". If you would like to know more here is a link to the first episode and the back story of how it started:Β www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/β¦
I hope you like the idea and decide to be a part of it. Like in that video, I will make sure to credit your work and leave links to the web page that you want people to check out. No worries if you are not comfortable with this, I will never use art without the permission of the creator. But know that this is fantastic, I am glad I was able to experience it.
May you keep making great things!
Jorden

Ooh man just got finished the audio book of the first trilogy, man that finale. This fits perfectly with how I imagined the scene, it's kinda funny by the end of the first book I didn't like Vin and Elend that much as characters. Especially with all the Kelseir plot going on, and by the end of third book I was saddened by how Brandon decided to end the final battle at the Pits.

TenSkies In reply to RedAceWingsX [2016-01-12 09:34:08 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I had very similar feelings about them, I especially didn't like Elend. But he get's really interesting towards the end. I don't know, the final battle is sad, but then again, I don't think there is a better way to end it.
