Fun fact [also SPOILER]: Asenath had herself been a victim of soul switching from her father, Ephraim Waite, before the short story ("The Thing On The Doorstep") even began. So basically it's actually an evil old dude possessing his daughter's Deep One-blooded body to seduce a man so he can possess a male body again; it's actually one of the the most twisted things Lovecraft wrote given the psychosexual implications.
