Description "The ultimate battle to save the universe is in the hands of Umasu, the star boxing champion. does she have what it takes to defeat the evil Dr.Eternal and his ultra fighting robots?"

The game is still on the go folks!^^ however I haven't been spending to much time on it since most of my focus as been on finishing my Konata Doujin.

Good news for that as well! the Doujin is now going to be FREE and readable online once I at least finish the first part to it.^^ I feel this is better so that I could get a bigger audience that way. for those who also don't have the money can also enjoy it as much as they like free of charge!^^

but anyway back to the game.

I really want to start marketing this game, getting it more exposure and everything. though I'm not sure how to do that. I have read articles about marketing your indie game. however for some reason I still feel like my Question hasn't been answered yet. most of what I got from the article was submitting my game to the "press" and I honestly have no idea what that is haha!

I also got one from this one article about zero budget marketing. it said something about sending an email to multiple sites or journalists.

the article can be found here:[link]

my only problem is that I'm not very experienced in marketing things especially indie games so if you guys have some awesome recommendations or know how to some of the following please let me know! I'll ever pleased!^^

if you also know how to send emails to journalists please let me know that too ahaha!

Umasu isn't planned to be like a professional type game but rather something I could make and enjoy while having others enjoy it as well.

well,... it's up to a professional level of my I liking.

I just want to be able to make something I can feel proud of and improve upon based on the inspirations that I've encounter in life and especially here on DA.

Umasu is one of my first games an it excites me that I'm even actually working on one. I even thought of a second Umasu already hahaha! and here I'm not even there yet, but it's because of the inspirations that fall upon it. Umasu doesn't have to be the greatest game of all time. I don't really even ever plan to make a game like that. but rather something people could know about me and one of the things I really like to do.

I like to express myself when telling stories and I hope to convey that well on this game. sometimes I fear that it might not turn out the way I want it too. but I try to look pass that and continue to have fun working on it.

in all, I hope that people would really enjoy the game. as mention Umasu doesn't have to be the best game. but to have fans that inspire me to continue to improve. that's all I really ask for.^^

My sister made a song for Umasu if you'd like to hear.^^
it's not official yet, but this is suppose to be the stage theme for Casino the Clown looking robot guy haha!

Casino's Amusement Park

hope you enjoy it!^^

oh yes if you like to also get a poster of this for support I'd be ever grateful!^^ I'll try to find some way to send it to you some how if I can! I don't really have money, but I'll be happy to find some way of sending it!^^

thanks and thank you also to those on DA who really inspire me to continue improving!

You could try promoting Umasu by making videos of it and uploading them onto YouTube like does with his games and/or making use of dA's AdCast. Sending emails to gaming websites and journalists sounds like a good idea as well.

That tune your sister composed sounds nice; props to her! ^^

Good luck with Umasu Tentakustar and if you feel you need some sort of help with it at any point, don't hesitate to ask me! ^o^/

By the way, that's a pretty nice poster.

don't worry I am!^^ but since I have other projects to work on I try to balance everything out the best way I can. so far I'm only focusing on two things right now so it wouldn't be so over whelming. those two things are this and that doujin!^^

I really like the layout for this one. There are a couple of things that stand out to my eyes, though, which might need your attention:

For one thing, you make use of a white outline to unify the lower characters and make them stand out a bit more, which is great, but up above it looks as though you had just started to do so before moving on to something else. It makes things feel unfinished - and, since the white outline is a unifying factor, really stands out to me.

Secondly, there's the matter of the orange zigzag on Three Eyes McConehead's chestplate, which just cuts off halfway across. I don't know whether you intended it to be a symmetrical thing or if my eyes are just being fooled by the lack of a black closing line on the right side.

There are also the matters of the blue glowing fist and the punch wave on the logo. I can sort of see what you were going for with the first one, but there are areas where the lines just don't seem to fit - almost as though you rushed through it. And the punch wave is lacking an outline, which makes it stand out distinct from the rest of the logo - everything else is double-outlined in bold, after all.

These are generally small points, but they make things feel a little bit unfinished - like maybe you were planning to go back to them before you finalized, but it slipped your mind.

Otherwise, this is an excellent promotional piece - displaying a variety of characters, all with highly original design, and a solid choice of colors as we've come to expect from your work. I especially like the layout, which draws the eye upward and around to all of the characters without seeming forced.

As for your questions on marketing, I really don't have much experience with that either. I'm not the self-promoting type, which is a big part of why I have no viewers (well, that, and I work slowly). However, I can tell you that this mysterious 'press' is just the collection of journalists, news sites, and game reviewers who might have an interest in a game like this. I would recommend holding off on sending them anything, though, until you have a working model you can display screenshots and video footage from, since a lot of them refuse to talk about a game they haven't seen much evidence of yet. It'd be even better if you could show them a playable demo, so they could give feedback on how the game plays as you develop it - that might help you to turn out a higher-quality product early on.

Until then, just keep doing what you're doing - promoting it through art and letting people know what you're working on. When you have a demo of some sort, you should also let your fans have a look at it so they can give you feedback as well - all to help the final product turn out a little stronger.

Once again I like your character designs and color choices.
Hmm... the guy in the background with the three eyes reminds me of a certain Zelda antagonist. Is that a coincidence, or inspired by him?

loool I think I know who your taking about too! haha.

I think it's that one guy from LOZTP! lol no it was just a coincidence. but though maybe without realizing it, I might of picked up a few from it. since I remember a while back I used to really like that design!
