I have breyers, and 2 peter stones. I have about 100 breyers though so that sorta makes up for the lack of peters lol (: Nice models. Do you ever show them?

What part of the horse do you use pastels for?

Pretty much all over. The base color (non-white areas) gets it the most. The hooves and eyes get some shading, and I shade the muscle grooves in the white areas very lightly to give the impression of skin showing through.

What is your opinon on Peter Stone vs. Breyer? I have yet to come across a Peter Stone, and I was wondering if they are cheaper or more expensive, better quality or no, etc. I find some of Breyer's Classic size are pretty disappointing (they don't seem to spend as much time on them as on the traditions and stablemates) and would like to look into alternatives...

Beautiful customization.

They tend to be more pricey, and as for quality it can vary. I stick mostly to Breyers, but I have a few Stones in my collection that I like very much.

And thank you!

You're welcome! I was just curious. The traditional Breyers are so expensive brand new, I don't want to change them, and then the classics take so much work to make them look decent, they almost aren't worth the 30 dollars.

I prefer getting them at yard sales, but it's once in a blue moon I find them. (3 out of my 10 are from yard sales).

No problem. I get my Breyer bodies anywhere I can. Garage sales, antique malls, flea markets, etc. I even trade for them. Or if one of my models in my OF collection gets damaged, or develops seam splits, they go to my body shelf.
