hey i'm curious
i just bought two figurines i wanted to color, and was wondering if you had any suggestions for paint and tips..etc

Are you painting them entirely in acrylic paints? I can't give much advice because I use pastels primarily(and use acrylics for details and white markings).
I will say that Ceramcoat and Americana are the best paints to buy on a budget. You can find them at places like Hobby Lobby and Michaels. There's also a brand called Liquitex that's great, but more expensive.
Also, be sure to clean the figures and primer them before painting. Never just paint the colors straight on the figure.
Paint on Gesso works, and if you want a smoother surface, use a good spray primer with a fast drying time(I use Rustoleum Auto Primer).
