Description
Australotitan is an enormous titanosaur from Australia described in 2021. This animal is currently australias largest sauropod and ranks among giants like Futalagnkosaurus and the well known dreadnoughtus. Australotitan was closely related to another more famous sauropod, diamantinasaurus. It is placed into the tribe diamantinasaurinae. Size estimates range between 25-30 meters. Should my proportions be correct, my estimate is 27 meters, so slap bang in the middle of the official measurements. Australia has a history of very interesting dinosaur finds, unfortunately they take ages to be described, I´m still waiting for an official description and name for "Elliot".
