I don't know the difference between subtractive and additive shading. Well, I get an idea, but could you clarify?

Additive: You start with a flat-colored picture and, using a brush, add on the dark shading.
Subtractive: You take a flat-colored picture, put a dark, shaded layer over it and then use the eraser to put in the light parts.

Ah, okay, that makes sense.
I see no problems with your shading. It's a whole lot better than what I do. Take a look at the one picture I uploaded to the site for example: [link]
