Description
This was painted as a wraparound cover for a gaming (RPG) manual.This particular piece depicts the nation of Avalon and the key figures related to that.
I did 8 different covers for this game in all. I think this was my favorite one.
The costume shop a few miles away became my best friend while illustrating all of these.
I painted it with acrylic, colored pencil, oil and a bit of airbrush in the background.

Great facial expressions. I can really tell each of their personalities. And amazing background such scenary the way it hits the light and the ship!! Feelin' the breeze up front too.

I never played Seventh Sea quite enough to recognize characters, but I really like the contrast of almost a Disney style fairy castle and a romanticized highlander with the much more realistic and less noble "Good Queen Bess" and the privateer character.

I agree, this is definitely the best of the 7th Sea covers. I especially like the crazy old dude - he looks like Benjamin Gunn.

I want also to paint like that, you use colours so well!
I'm currently myself studying painting and animating, and i think the painting itself is my thing. I'd love to do paintings like these, hopefully someday i will be able to paint also humanbeings more realistic way.
I yet know myself that should i use oil paints or acrylics but i think i will find out eventually ^^

It was inspired by DiCaprio and I can certainly see the similarity with David however I used a different reference for that character.
