I've been a huge Scyther fan since gen 1 so it was only fitting that my first Pokemon gijinka be a Scyther.  My eyes are made red with contacts, the armor and blades are worbla, and the wings are a wood frame, wire, and cellophane.  They're made so that I can fold the wings down to make walking in crowds a little easier (Its still kind of hard though )  When spread out, the wings reach an 8 foot wing span.  When they're down, they're a bit wider than my body.

Best Scyther cosplay I've ever seen! Do you have any crafting steps for your swords? I've always wanted to try out Worbla.

I do not have a tutorial made up or anything like that, (I have progress pics though, so I could make one ) but basically, I drew out a full sized pattern for the blades, cut the shape out of foam board, covered the foam board with expanding foam, carved the 3D shape of the entire blade out (including the raised edges and the sharp end of the blade), covered the green part with a couple layers of Worbla scraps, covered the blade part with a single sheet on both sides, added a second sheet on each side for the yellow part of the blade (to get a sharper edge), trimmed off the edge of the blade, added friendly plastic to the green part to smooth it out (using scraps left a ton of seams), and then primed it with multiple coats of wood glue and painted as I desired.

If I were to do it again I might do it a little differently, like using a thick EVA foam for the base instead of expanding foam or using an single sheet of Worbla over the entire prop rather than using scraps for part of it (but I had lots of scraps and I wanted to use them). Expanding foam can be difficult to get smooth and you're more than likely going to have air holes to cover up once you're done carving.  If you're going for a thinner blade, you can also just use foam board for the base of the blade and build up with foam for the handle and other details and then cover it all with Worbla, but my Scyther blades needed to be a little thicker which is why I used expanding foam for the entire thing.

Hope this helps!
