Description
You look at the phone you had gotten and saw it was getting late in the day. It was just after one in the afternoon and you still had so much to do. You had cleaned the house, cleaned the yard, did the laundry, baked some cupcakes, got groceries, dropped the clothes that needed some altering at Porrim's, and you got your younger brother a couple of movies on DVD that he'd been asking for. At least you didn't have to worry about said brother.

Before you had started all the work, you had gotten him ready for the day. Once you both were ready, you took him over to Cronus’s place. You and Cronus are good friends and spend quite a bit of time together, so your brothers spend time together as well. So you had arranged a play date for the two younger boys while you did your work. You love watching the two play together. You and Cronus have actually hoped they become moirails or matesprites.

Now you have DVDs, but you don't have a DVD player. The one you had, for some reason it wouldn't open. So, you packed it up into the box it came in and went to see Horuss. He said he'd be able to fix it for you. You thanked him and had been on your way. That was a couple of weeks ago. Hopefully it should be fixed by now.

You walk over to the Zahhak's and knock on the door. You wait a bit before knocking again. This time the door opened. Only, it wasn't Horuss. Its his younger brother, Equius. He looks up at you. You bend down to his height.

"Hello Equius. Is Horuss home?" The young blue blood began to sweat a little.

"Y-Yes Highblood. He refuses to leave his room though." You wince internally.

Everyone knew about your blood color. You share the same blood color with Kurloz and Gamzee: indigo. The difference between you and the Makaras is you don't go into a rage like they do. You're part of the indigo bloods who are kind and don't go into an uncontrollable rage without provocation. You're horns are shaped like their's as well, only your's have more of a wave to them. The other difference was you aren't a descendant of the Grand Highblood. Your ancestor is known as the Honorable Highblood.

"How long has he been in his room?" you ask.

"Three days…" the young blue blood said. You stand up when you hear a grumble coming from Equius.

"Equius, when was the last time you ate?" you asked hesitately. When you get no answer from him, you sigh.

"Okay. First I'll make you something to eat. Then I'm gonna talk to Horuss." You move inside the home and go to the kitchen. You make him some simple ramen with plenty of beef and some vegetables. Equius looked at you funny when you gave it to him.

"Its all good for you. You want to be strong but it would be hard to be strong if you get sick all the time." you tell him. You get him a cup of milk and set it where he can reach.

"Okay now while you eat, I'm gonna talk to Horuss. If you finish, there's more in the pot. Just be careful." Equius nods and you leave the room. You head up the stairs to Horuss's room. You were about to go into the older Zahhak's room when you heard something. It was muffled but it sounded like sobbing. You knock on the door.

"Horuss? Its (name). I'm coming in ok." You go in. The room is dark, but there's enough light coming through the windows that you can see. You look around and see Horuss in a far corner. His face is in his knees with his arms wrapped tightly around his knees. The sound of sobbing is unmistakeable now. You rush over to him. You sit in front of him, the material of your skirt settling around you. You look him over, checking for visible injuries. You didn't find any so you gently lift Horuss's face so he can look at you.

Horuss looks horrible. His eyes are bloodshot, face wet from all the crying he's been doing. His hair is down from his usual ponytail, but its all messy and knotted. His clothes look ruffled, like he's been in them for days. All in all, he doesn't look like the Horuss you know.

"What's wrong? What saddens you so much you cry for days? What has hurt you so much that you hide away in your room and leave young Equius to fend for himself?" you ask. Horuss doesn't answer you so you just hold him close and let him take comfort in you. Its a long time before he's calmed down enough to speak.

"I'll be right back." You get up. First you head back to the kitchen and get Horuss a glass of milk. You see Equius had moved to the living area and is looking at one of the many My Little Hoofbeast dvds they have. You go over, put the one he was looking at in the dvd player and gets it going for him. He starts watching it happily.

You go back upstairs with Horuss's drink. You stop at the bathroom and gets a damp cloth as well as a dry towel. You go back into the blue blood's room and sit back in front of him. With the damp cloth, you gently wipe his face clean of the days of grime, tears, and snot. Then you hand him the milk. He takes it gratefully and drinks it.

"You don't have to answer, but can you please tell me what is wrong?" He looks down. In a quiet, rough voice you hear him say,

"Rufioh cheated on me… with Damara." you sigh.

"Oh Horuss. A troll like that isn't worth your tears. He isn't worth your love. He obviously didn't see how wonderful he had it. He didn't see what a wonderful matesprite he had. He doesn't deserve any more from you than what you have already given. Doesn't deserve your tears, your emotions, and most importantly he doesn't deserve you. He's not worth it." you tell him. You bring him into a gentle hug. He carefully hugs you back. After a few minutes, you pull away.

"Now I would feel horrible if I left you alone in this emotionally hard times for you. I'd feel better if you and Equius would stay with me until you are emotionally ready to be here." you see Horuss nod. You smile gently. "Okay. With that, you pack up some clothes and what you want. I'll go get Equius ready." You stand up and leave the room. As you go downstairs, you can't help but think of how you could kick a certain winged troll's ass.
