May entry to the #fanartcalendarchallenge by eivythi !! Its my "historical apropriate version of Juvia Lockser from Fairy Tail sujested by the wonderfull bloodberi ! She has tons of very pretty anime draws and i love her fanarts( she did a mermay inspired series with anime mermaids!) Sooo i never watched fairy tail before she sujested Juvia and i start watching since fhe amvs i used for ref(i saw too many gruvia stuff i guess) made me want to watch the show.. So Juvia is a very nice character cause ,at least for me, she has a little of yato(too childsh and too grown up at the same time) , a little of Ryoga tendency of misurderstanding grey actions(they first meet is just supper funny!) And that tomoyo crazy cute kindness that i love♡ So as all the costubers i like are doing historical versions of disney( and bloodberi like my gowns) i felt inspired to make a historical fairy tail thing^^ i thing all juvia outfits i saw Match the 1875-1880 kind of aestetic and this pacticular dress is responsible for this inspiration pl.pinterest.com/pin/650277633… and this blue one is an inspiration too pl.pinterest.com/pin/292382200… and this one have the shape i used for the side and lower part( and some good color ideas as well ) pl.pinterest.com/pin/650277633… my original intention was to make a ballgown instead of a daydress buuut i then came across this one pl.pinterest.com/pin/217298750… and it have just the rigth uppe body shape juvia needed since i saw a way to incorporate a more jacked look and her puffy colar. The colors and over all thing of the dress is higtly inspired by br.pinterest.com/pin/243264817… and br.pinterest.com/pin/491173903… but i borroed the umbrella from her fist apearence( i dont know if she keeps it or not..) since its a tipe of thing a lady like her would use as accesorie^^ and i wanted to have something personal that would be characteristic of her as well since i didint found a way to incorporate the water magic or figthing stuff in the pic.

I wanted the bacground to be something like magnolia( the city where the Fairy Tail guild is) to show she is at home there and happy with sunny days and all, but i didint use any specific ref for the backgound so i dont know how effective this actually looks.. ( I remember seeing a plece like that a lot on the amvs but i only got to the part she is at the guild now so..)
Tecnique wise im really happy with the result and that i finally made a background that feels integrated in watercolors!! It as much more loose than im used to and still i really like how it turned out! All watercolors with a little of pencil colors in her face and white acrilic for higligth and china ink for countours.
I feel like turning this into a fairy tail series.. Hope i can actually do it^^
