Victoria snorted after reading the flier "when are we volunteering Samuel for this kind of shows?", she chuckled. The flier she held was dazzlingly decorated, with golden lettering, intricate mosaics and posing horses like living marble statues. A true ode to this ancient culture. An ode the riders ought to dress up to. Truthfully, cosplay and costumes had always been the MacArthur's choice of playtime: sinking pirate ships when children, outlaws and cowboys on riding lessons, to just being Thor on a late evening trot trough the woodland trails.
Victoria was not entirely convinced. She had a beautiful yellow dress she once acquired when the craze of buying a side saddle hit her, she even wore it to the show ring then. But this time it was thematic! and a dress by simply being beautiful wouldn't do! She considered the costume she wore when Edward and her showed as the night and day entities of Viking culture with Urso and Nova. It could be an option? No, that wouldn't do it either. Edward would be showing his new prospect, Idaho , in Croatia and besides, Samuel was so committed on Urso Russo's training it would be bitter to interrupt his efforts...So much for the "contrasting figures " without two figures to contrast.
She sighted as she pulled down the skin from under her eyes and cheeks with her hands. The pages on the notebook were filled with notes, stickers and cut out pieces of fabric. A mess, no doubt one she wasn't exactly proud of...but it had worked out well thus far. Her little sewing notebook. For 3 years then it had become a precious item in her purse or bag, as much as the keys perhaps. So many hours of sewing and historical attire YouTube videos added to meticulously organized playlists, watched and rewatched. Notes taken. Designs drafted. Fantasies envisioned.
Victoria rested her eyes, pinching the nose cane with her fingers. The rush of ideas had shaken her for a slight second as the excitement and indecision built up. Resting her arms on the desk, the notebook opened between them, Victoria pauses for a moment in blank. Collectedly she turned sideways on the chair to look behind her, to look at the gown resting on the bust mannequin: Project "Fruitcase", nothing fruity about it, just mental! That gown would be her magnum opus! For a novice tailor a project as big as that could eventually become an encouraging success or a frustrating failure!
It didn't matter.
For all she knew, the gown would have to be ready enough to show in a couple of months.

About the theme: this is my try at 12th century fashion and British Isle medieval culture. Victoria is wearing a simple gown with not as long sleeves because it had to be practical for riding, and a guimple (head wear) because they are super neat and she doesn't have long enough hair to braid xD For the background I wanted to do more than stone stairs of the amphitheatre and turned to the ocean view at late evening. The rail is a miniature imitation of Roman aqueducts, decorated with Roman styled torch. The statue sits on a Roman Ionic style column.
Could not resist to add the little European robin, for some reason I don't draw as much birds on my backgrounds digitally as compared to traditionally? and now I have a new challenge for myself: adding a tiny birb to my drawings. I also just noticed I haven't written shit since this piece a year ago -> ...served cold. Anyway, last show entry before dedicating myself to everything I owe *don't kill me, please*
