Description
Zuko looked up at Katara and saw her eating the Ramen like there was no tomorrow. That caused him to laugh a little. Katara looked up because she heard laughing.
"Whats so funny?" she asked,
"Well katara," said Zuko holding back his laugh,"You brought me here to eat and you're eating like you haven't eaten in like forever!" Katara looked down,
"I havent eaten in 2 days," katara answered, "but Sokka got payed today so I got some food"
"Oh I see," said Zuko now looking concerned, "Katara are you absolutley sure its affordable for me to stay here?" She gave him a hard stare,
"Look, we may sometimes be short on money but we can still manage fine, even with another person living in this house" Katara said,
"Oh okay," Zuko replied, "Im gonna look for a job after I'm done with this" Katara just stared,
"How are you gonna get a job when you haven't been in school since you were my age?" she asked,
"I'm not really sure," he said. After they had finished, Katara went with Zuko on his job search, and he ended up getting a job at the grocery store where they met.
"Now isn't this ironic?" Katara said
"Yeah, the place we met is now the place I work" Zuko said
"So when do you start?" Katara asked,
"Next week" answered zuko,
"So not to be like to inturding or anything," said Katara, "but why were you in the store to begin with?" He looked at her,
"Well i haven't eaten in a couple days too," Zuko said, "and... I kinda got in a fight with my uncle and I thought it would be easier on him if I wasn't around" Katara looked at Zuko with sympathetic eyes,
"Oh I see, well that both means we need to eat! " Katara giggled. Zuko looked at her and saw a smile instead of the look of worry she had given him since they met,
"So you wanna go get somethin to eat?" asked Zuko,
"Okay, but arent you broke?" Katara looked at him in cofusion,
"Yeah but I gotta catch up with uncle," Zuko replied. They walked out of the store and started down the street. They were walking into a part of town Katara was not fimilar with. She was clinging to Zuko's arm out of fear, and plus she was pretty sure that he knew his way around, but she still felt unsafe. They walked up to a blue-grey house, and Katara assumed it was his uncles. They entered the house, and Zuko called out,
"Uncle I'm here!" Then out of the shadows out stepped Azula,
"Hi there big brother!" Azula said, "Long time no see! I don't like what you did with your hair," she eyed him up and down, "or your clothes,"
"Azula where is Uncle?" Zuko yelled,
"Well, I could tell you where Uncle Iroh is," she sighed, "but that just seems like a waste of my time" Azula said while looking at her manicured nails. Her voice had always annoyed Zuko,
"So Zuzu who is your new girlfriend?" asked Azula as she pointed at Katara who was standing in the doorway. Zuko had totally forgotten that katara was with him and Katara just stood there looking confused and trying to understand the situation.
Oh no she is still here! Zuko thought, I need to get her out of here. Zuko turned and started to run to the door and grabbed Katara's wrist,
"It's time to get the hell out of here! Start running! "Zuko almost screamed
but then, there were two girls that Zuko remebered from when he was little,
"Well Zuko," said Mai "It's been a long time,"
"Yeah a little too long," said Ty Lee. Zuko pushed Katara right past them and yelled to her,
"Run away from here!" he called, "Go anywhere but home!" Katara started to run, but couldn't help but wonder what was going on,
"So Zuzu, ready to go back home?" Azula asked. Zuko gave her a evil look,
"No Azula," then he punched her right in the face and ran. Mai went to chase after him but Azula told her to stop,
"Don't waste your time," she said, "we know he lives in this town, we will get him back" Zuko finally caught up with Katara,
"Zuko what is going on?" she asked looking scared,
"It's a long story, maybe I'll tell you some day when you're older," Zuko said trying to be funny.
They walked back to her house and Katara went to her room to change and get ready for bed. Sokka looked over at Zuko,
"What took you two so long?" he asked, Zuko just shrugged,
"Nothing,"
"Well I got my eyes on you." Sokka said in response. Katara then came down in her pj's. Zuko couldnt look away. He had a look on his face and sokka smacked him in the head. Because he knew that look!
"Well its time to go to bed," said Gran Gran,
"Can't we stay up a little longer?" asked sokka
"Nope you have school tomorrow" Gran Gran lectured
"I'm going to watch TV," Sokka said
"Like hell you are! You'll fall asleep with that thing turned on so loud that I can't sleep" Gran Gran yelled,
"Fine you win Gran Gran" Sokka said pouting. He then plopped on the couch and put the blanket around his head
Zuko and Katara went up the stairs and both said good night, but katara couldnt sleep. But, she thought, She was always like that she would rather be up when the sun is down. Eventually, she drifted off to sleep.
Zuko however, woke up as soon as the sun came up, and the same time as Gran Gran. Sokka had fallen on the floor and yet was still sleeping. Then hours later there was a loud scream and it came from Katara's room.
"Katara!" yelled Sokka, and he ran up the stairs.
