Admittedly this is *waaaaaay* too much detail for a pony design, but he’s been the most fun to put together. And yes, your first assumption is correct. The cannons on his back force Mars to keep his head slung fairly low to the ground. Also, laser cannons on each hoof requires some careful planning to keep from tagging himself. None of this has done his personality any good. …As if he was a “charmer” to begin with…

And, yes, the ram helmet with bell is a Grogar reference. Thank you for noticing. You know…you beat canon Mars by pummeling his head… You “ring his bell”.
