Description The quick story of Rumpelstiltskin, for those who aren't familiar.....
A miller went before the king and tring to make himself important, said he had a daughter who could spin straw into gold. Of course, she couldn't, but the greedy king put her in a room filled with straw and expected it to all be turned to gold by morning. The young girl cried all day, since it could not be done, when a little man came to her window and offered to do as she asked for something in return. First she gave him her ring, then her necklace, and on the third night of the same request, when she had nothing else to give, he asked for her firstborn child. She agreed, and after the third night of spinning was done, the king married the girl. When the child came along a year later, the little man returned. The new queen pleaded with him not to take the child. He said only if she could guess his name.....he gave her three days. Of course this proved impossible, and so she sent a servant out to spy on the little man. He found him dancing about in the woods, singing out that his name was "Rumpelstiltskin" and the queen would never guess. The last day when he came, after throwing out a few names, the queen said, "Is your name, Rumpelstiltskin?" The little man became so enreged that he pounded his foot on the floor, where it cracked open and he was swallowed up by the earth.

This fairytale is neglected in the art I've seen... this is such a nice interpretation!

Nice dress that she's wearing, because of the design. Her hair came out really good. Nice work on the hay and the rest of the background.

There's not much background to choose from in this story....most of it takes place in hay filled rooms, so I figured that would be the best way to portray it!

Yep....That's what kids here in the USA know it as....I do think it's originated from germany or somewhere abouts though, so your version is probably more true to the title.
