Description
The Slytherin Common Room: a dungeon-like room with greenish lamps and chairs. This dungeon extends partway under the lake, giving the light in the room a green tinge. It has quite a grand atmosphere, but also quite a cold one.PrismaColor Pencils on 9x12 inch Black Artagain paper. I tweaked the fire slightly with photoshop to give it a better glow.

oooo nice nice nice. I kind of imagine the slytherin common room bit more extravagant and intricately detailed but I really like your more cottage-y style. I love the floor and the giant squid. Wow though, you are so good with those colored pencils. I really got to get myself some quality ones, I suck to bad with digital art, are they much better than crayola? This was BLACK paper? and the pencils did this? that's neat.

Thank you! And yes, Prisma Color pencils will give you the best quality on any surface. They are pricey, but very much worth it. They are more of a wax-like consistency than normal color pencils, but you can overlap them, blend easier and basically do most anything with them.

I love the Slytherin common room on Pottermore. This really gives the perfect feeling.

I actually thought this was a painting before I saw the medium. I really can't say anything because everything in it is amazing. I love the squid's tentacles, I love how you defined the tentacles in pink like that. I love how you gave a little white smudge here and there on the window to represent the glass. It looks more like real glass that has had to endure many generations of nasty Slytherine abuse, lol. I love the green water and how you blended the different shades of green. I love the detailing in the rug and one thing that really sticks out to me is the rocks. I love how you used many different colors to create one uniform color, that really makes them look real.
The snakes above the fireplace are sexy.
I really love the chandelier, how you edged it in a pale yellowish color. This really is just incredibly gorgeous. You have a great sense of depth and values, especially seeing as you don't have anything but your imagination to reference this to!

My gosh, you have such an amazing eye for little details! Thank you so much, I do work really hard to get everything in there to represent the place from a moments glance. I know often the small details are overlooked as people just see the big picture that brings it all together. You made the whole 7-8 hours of bringing this to life from a blank page all the more worth it.
I only had reference from my memory of film tidbits, the books and little side excerpts I've read about the general feeling of the place, so that's how I pulled it all together. Thank you so much!
