Description
After looking through a field guide to birds, I'm still at a loss to identify this lovely little shore bird that looks a bit like a plover but doesn't have the appropriate facial markings and is the size of a sandpiper but has too short a beak. Anyway, it had just emerged from an early morning bath and was shaking off its wings when I photographed it on Bunche Beach.
