Description Name: The Monhep (UO-167)
Status: N/A, deceased
Length: 2 feet
Weight: 60 pounds
Height: 3 feet at 'shoulder'

The monhep is a carcass found in ____, along with several other cryptids, such as UO-364. It was largely intact, with just a few surprisingly precise incisions and marks. Autopsies revealed that it had died prior to entering, by at least a few days.

It's most distinct feature is it's giant foot-like transportation organ. It is fairly convergent to our feet with 3 'toes'. It has been guessed that it hopped around, using it to leap off the ground. Additionally, x-rays have revealed that it possesses a pair of atropied arm-like structures, appearing to be nubs of bone. This have suggested that it, UO-364, and other cryptids share a common ancestry. Based on the structure of it's leg, and comparison with other terrestrial vertebrates, it's thought that the Monhep was quite agile in life, capable of great leaps and strides.

It's covered in a thin series of single-strand filments, even having whiskers around it's snout. The well defined nostrils suggest that, when alive, it could produce great sounds, theorized to either be for attracting mates or warning of danger. It is colored all over with dull browns. It has a sharp beak, which is followed by a series of molars presumed to be for grinding food.

Based on it's dentition and the contents of it's stomach, it's believed to be an omnivore, though leaning closer to a herbivorous diet. In it's stomach, there was found to be plant-like substances, partially digested, along with a few bones.

It's assumed sexual reproductive organ is a 5-inch radula-like organ. On it's end were a few keratin-like ridges. Based on it's whiskers, it has been thought that it possessed nocturnal traits. Other than that, traits have been difficult to discern, due to the fact that all that is known about it is based off a single carcass.

The specimen has since been taxidermied, and is now erected in _____.
