I can tell you spent lots of time on it.. I've tried that once or twice but never came anywhere near this.
And you're right, the grayscale is perfect for this flame.

Thanks very much and thank you for the fave. It took me forever to decide on a gradient choice. I think I spend more time on the colors than the actual fractal, but sometimes I believe the gradient can make all the difference!

I couldn't agree with you more about gradients ... color can definitely set the mood of an image & I often spend as much time on the gradient as I do the image itself.

I know, I think the gradient can make or break a fractal. With the right one, something that is just so-so, can become really awesome. Maybe that's why it takes me so long!!
