Alan is kind of the father representation to the Lloyds. He helped as much as he can the brothers when their parents died. He also have a child of his own, Samuel, which he took care by himself. He was quite skeptical of the new size changing technology uprising. His first encounter with a tiny was at work when he crushed unawarely a coworker to death by sitting on him. He then comprehend how fragile being a tiny is and felt some kind of pity towards them since then. Whenever a tiny would cross path with him, he would instinctly crush them just to end their pityful life. He doesn't think he show some kind of cruelty or anything but it's his way of protecting them by ending a life not worth living.
