Description I intended this to be an exercise in colour, realism, composition and texturing. I browsed DA for some stock images and was inspired by one of the images in . You can find the original image here: [link]

I haven't been true to the original image, and somewhere along the lines I got tired to trying to get the cloth right for the dress... I'll leave improving my folds drawing skills for next time But I am really happy about the background, however. It is the first time that I have drawn an outdoor scene like this, with blue skies and a green meadow. I have little practice (or patience) when it comes to flowers, so I took some pains with the fan, but I like the result

All in all, I learned a lot doing this painting

great. I like all the details.. I feel that it needs some brighter greens and maybe a variety of colored flowers, a path or a stone would make it more dramatic..

Thank you for the tip, it's greatly appreciated I won't modify anything here, but you are right, I should have used a brighter palette That's actually a great difficulty I've been encountering w/ digital paintings: if I block in non-saturated colours, the whole pic is going to end up looking a bit pale I'll try to get rid of that habit
