Description
The picture is of the 1st major battle from Robert A. Heinlein's "Starship Troopers". This novel is pretty much the Bible of Giant Robot-type Anime.
This pic is, like, 10X's more faithful to the book than that damned movie, though I have to confess to taking some creative liberties.
Jonnie's Powered Marauder Suit is described in the book as having 3 points of thrust, while I tend to draw powered armor with the assumption that they'll have to function in space, hence the multiple thrusters. I also drew the "Bugs" a LOT bigger than they should be.
Ah, well. Was still fun to create.
