Description Tess, Joel, and Tommy about 1 or 2 years into the cordyceps breakout.

I kind of forgot about these guys' pasts but I feel like there's a really interesting story in there. Tess was 19/20 maybe even 18 when the cordyceps broke out and who knows how she survived or when she met up with Joel and Tommy, but I'd love to know. Joel and Tommy have a fascinating story as well - Tommy had to help Joel through dealing with Sarah (which probably meant making sure he survived despite Joel's will) and then Joel got the upper hand and made Tommy do some things he truly regretted.

I kind of hope they make a game out of their backstory

That does bring up an interesting idea. No idea if they'd ever do it though. Usually it's always sequential, marching onward into the future instead of traveling into the past.

From a game-play and narrative perspective, hindsight is limiting. They can't reliably add anything new to encounter that wouldn't be justifiably available in the original release (had it been thought up). So they'd be sticking to the same constraints as the first game as far as enemy variety and encounters are concerned. Maybe adding more vehicular challenges due to cars and whatnot being a more viable method of transport.

I hope so too. I wish they'd release the game on PC so I could play it. All I've had to experience it, has been through Let's Plays. :/

Yeah, I am kind of worried for what they will do in a sequel... I feel like Joel's character arch is done now, he can't lose another 'daughter' and no other relationship would be as strong a motivator for another game. I hope they focus on Ellie growing up, or on a completely different set of characters... As long as the game is as good as this one, I don't care.

I hope they'll eventually release it for PC as well... it seems like such a waste because so many people are asking for a PC version.... I was just lucky enough to be able to play it at a friend's house but I wish I could play it by myself as well...

Yeah, I feel they dropped the ball with not releasing a PC version. That was just a dumb move that could've made them even more money. I dunno.

I'd say focusing on other characters would probably be best. Gives an opportunity to tell a new story without incurring the risk of losing fans over various decisions.

Although following Ellie would be interesting. There's loads of fan-art out there supporting that idea. So I wouldn't be too surprised if that's the route they eventually take in development.
