Description A Portrait of Greve(Count) Matthias Larsson Rikaard, a 34 year -old Swedish nobleman, who has served as a valoruous Γ–rlogskapten in the Skanska Regiments of The Royal Swedish Army.
He was the very epitome of austerity, choosing to live an unpretnious life, along with his wife,Ing and his three sons. In the year 1803, his wife died of an advanced stage of breast cancer-which in that century was unheard of, let alone a cure- he spent all his fortune on doctors to restore her health, but alas to no avail, she died the next 7 months. His fortune spent, he still had his military position for which he dilligently, loyal and laborious earned , he was throrough patriot.
In the year 1808, Sweden and Russia locked horn , so to speka, in a war, which would be know as the Russo-Swedeish war, all caused and manipulated by Napoleon's conquest of remaining parts of Europe...
His sons now in their late teens, and possessing in the fiber of their being the very same loyalty to their country as their father did, has also enlisted, despite their father protests and objections.

During the battle of Oravais he lost all three of his sons, though Sweden had gained victory over the Russians, for Matthias, it was an empty vicotroy, as his only purpose for life was destroyed.
Realizing the futility of hisown life, he sought to end it by honorable means. He requested that he transferred ito the Hussar detachment as commander of that certain regiment, a posiition which can be rightly called "forlorn hope"...
Atthe battle of Virta Bo,(also known as Koljonvirta ), he was hand to hand in the very heat of battle of certain Cossack Sotnik(commander). To his impression, this Cossack Sotnik, a towering man of great strength, was his veryt own equal in combat, Matthias was considered one of the very few best who could be effective at depleting the enemy, and here he met his match!

When the battle died down-along with atl east hundred man on both sides- Matthias and the Cossack Sotnik were both growing weary from the wounds both had afflicted on each other, and soon both were lying on the field more than alive. Yet theCossack still had some strength left, he stood over Mathhias. "D*** you! run your saber through my sorry frame and end it!!Why the h** stare at me so?!?! Are ye mad and daft in the head!?!? You have won! You are the victor! End it! End it here! D*** it! Your kind have robbed me of my sons, so why do you not ye rob me of my own d*** life?!" He shouts at the Cossack who gazes at him with compassion and mercy.
He spoke nothing , but although badly wounded himself, The cossack half- carried him to the nearby river, and wash Matthias' wounds and even bound them up with his -the cossack's-own clothes. Once Matthias regained consciouness, he did the same to the cossack. And while they laid by the river, they began to know one another.

Prim, thank you immensely!
Can you guess who the cossack was?

The process was quite laborious, it took 4 hours.

Yes, that was a blessing, to think that Matthias and he were enemies, but when the war was over, they great and quite close friends and confidantes.

That is true!

I am so very glad to hear from you!
I did not remember if I told you about what happened to my friend, Jana?

On another note I found some videos of Dmitri and this great Soprano, Renee Fleming, they were worked together on Euegen Onegin three years ago, and now worked on a concert in St Petersburg celebrating Russian music, Flemming is part Slavic, so she was honored to work on this projecrt:

My oh my! You DO like men, don't you?
As stated previously, hands are too small......don't spend energy trying to draw individual fingers just yet....draw mittens instead...fingers will come later. You have one eye higher than the other......a very common mistake for beginning artists......make sure they align horizontally.
As for expressiveness, it is obvious your drawing is deeply felt.....hey, I notice your strokes are starting to follow the direction of the form!....Ron.

Ron, I indeed truly do! It is a creative stream for me to fully appreciate and and express the admirable, wholly masculine ideals and humans that men can be..Also being a quite timid and shy person it is way to express one's romantic nature at heart...

Ron all these lessons are priceless to me! How can I repay you? They have improve my work by lightyears!

You have done well with the perspective on his left hand, that's always a hard thing to draw.

Yes, it was quite a challenge, but I had learned from you to observe one self's in the mirror for hands and faces.
He is supposed to look like this chap: [link]
Does he?

There's a resemblance, bring his eyebrows closer together (men have more beetly brows than women do) and he will look more like the photo.
I also spend a lot of time 'people watching' in shops, on trains and at the bus stop.

I have always observed that mesn have always had such angular faces than women, it can be a challenge to bring everything in coordination, but thank you so much for the advice! I will do that the next portrait.

I should observe people more often as you do, I am too much of a homebody.
