Kuro is the older brother and becomes leader of the mafia. He always disliked Luca, so when he's finally the leader he shoots him and throws him out on the street thinking he's dead. A random person sees him and calls an ambulance in time. When he wakes up in the hospital there's a blond police officer there to interrogate him. The guy tells him they know he's part of the Kaneshiro mafia, to which Luca replies that he's not anymore. Officer Brisko, as he presents himself, tells Luca to work with them to finally destroy the mafia. Luca doesn't have many options and accepts, thus starting to work with Sonny and the police. Since he doesn't have a house anymore Sonny let's him stay with him. At first the officer was serious, a little cold even, but the more they work together the more fond they grow of each other. When they raid the mafia main base Sonny gets shot, and this causes Luca to go crazy and kill many people he once considered family. In the end Luca is able to get his revenge on Kuro, but the moment he kills him guilt takes over. It was his brother after all, the person he admired when he was a kid. Sonny survives and comforts Luca about the situation, and Luca soon realizes the fear he felt when he saw Sonny get shot wasn't because they were just friends. It takes Luca a while to sort his feelings and accept that he likes Sonny as more than just his savior. He doesn't know if he should confess tho, he isn't really sure what will happen to him now that the mission he accepted is over. He's really concerned about it, and Sonny can tell. Sonny has never been the best at verbally expressing his feelings, but he knows what he feels when he's with Luca. When he can finally go home from the hospital he goes to his office first. Luca worries why he's late, and he's left speechless when Sonny gets home with a paper from the police. It's an application to be his partner, and Luca couldn't be happier to accept.
