Beautiful scene
I didn't know you could paint on wood, is there still some wood structure left to see on the original? I see some strokes but I am not sure if it's the wood structure of actual brush strokes.

The wood was sanded and primed with gesso, so no texture was left.
It makes for a really smooth painting surface.
