Description Far away,
Long ago,
Glowing dim as an ember,
Things my heart used to know,
Things it yearns to remember
And a song someone sings

www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyUBdL…

---
This was my favorite movie when I was a child, and of course my favorite of all time...a lot of memories ;_;

yeah,Β the real story is much more tragic and of course the movie is not historically correct .. but in short, I also was inspired by its version of broadway, hopefully and I can go see it some day !.

This is such gorgeous work. Her dress is absolutely stunning, the movement in it and the pattern are just absolutely beautiful. I love the way it shines and the layer of almost translucent material which covers it. It looks really magical. Think there is a real depth of emotion that you have managed to capture. The way she is moving and the expression on her face.

Am definitely curious as to why it was your favourite, don't think I have seen this one myself but am familiar with the story because part of our history classes were about Russia.Β

The background is lovely as well, love how magical everything looks. Something a bit older and not quite sinister but can tell there is something more going on behind. Love the contrast between the blue and yellow as well.Β

thanks a lot shak, it really wanted to make this picture during this month, specially after expermienting with the layer textures in photoshop this year , also, I wanted to do a mix with its animated version and the one used by the royal queens from Russia

The song really brings me good and nostalgic memories, I remember I used to watch this movie a lot of times when I was a child. I think its kinda hard to explain what strange and magical feeling this song causes me, I was reading the comment section in youtube in its orchestal version, and this comment really caught my attention because I think this is close to the explation of this feel:

"i think it's not the movie that were that good, it's just the idea associated to it indeed. The forgotten childhood that we miss, because we were living it at his fullest, completly alive. But not anymore. The music itself actually make sense in the way that if you analyse it a little, the main melody is like something that tries to evolve, but that always come back to the first note. A little bit like something we couldnt reach anymore, that is in the past forever. Take a look at the melody as if it were a person, and you will see somehow that that person is tragically trying something, trying to go up, but always come back to the first note. There is also the fact that there are 2 very seperate moments in that music, a simple one with the main melody, and when the violon and piano start going fast. Those 2 moments create a paradox, like something that is on the surface forgotten and non existent, but when we try to dig a little bit more, there is an infinite territory, an infinite territory of the memory, the very destroyed but in the same time powerfull memory. So the music itself kind of describes the action of a man trying to growing up but cannot be apart from his childhood, and the more he tries to get away from it, the more close he becomes to it."-Sunqt
but well....yeah the story is, tragic in some way , the movie was made because I remember they had the belief that Anastasia could survive because they never found her body....until some years later.

Thank you so much again lady, I love your comments

Definately a change from your usual repertoire!! The color of her dress heavily contrasts the cold blue of the building and makes her stand out even more and definately puts her at the fore front of the piece. Good show!

This is magnificent Tex!Β
I love the detailing on the dress, very Russian Β and exquisite! I love your style to her as well, she was always one of my favorite princesses as a child. The song in particular is beautiful and doesn’t earn as much notice as it should in my opinion. Especially when the spirits leap in plumes of Dust with such grace and majesty.Β

thanks a lot! I had been waiting for draw this in this month haha!

Oh gosh, the choir that goes with tha scene just gives me chills, its so beautiful and nostalgic. It deserves the attention for all the detail for both the music and scene .

(did you see that Anastasia is the only one with a reflection in the floor when she is dancing? talk about attention in the animation!)

Oh my God, I thought I was the only one who noticed! Yes, I did! I adored the fragmentation when everything dissipates.

When the choir rose up, I was floored; it definitely speaks for itself with the work that was put into it.
I’m so happy you did, it really fits! ^-^

definitely this jewel should not die in oblivion , they say that the broadway musical is very well done too and the song ... oh my god. ;w;

Now that disney bought Fox, I hope that at least they give justice to those scenes.
