Well I don't sell the files of characters I don't own, Chloe belongs to Jollyjack. Besides it would just be a sculpt in Zbrush and the T-pose is incomplete since I do most of the work after posing, like a sculpture. Not a character you can use in Blender as is.

Fine then, let me ask you something then within this manner. Your a 3D editor correct, or a 3D editor in general correct. If so I'd like to have a 3D game model if possible, but I don't see a game form at all. So I'll cut to the chase, do you do 3D ready format games at all, well source format. I can transfer nearly ant sort of game format to blender as is, but can you make it and could you give me the file to it. What am truly asking is, could you make me one or not. Its either a yes or a no

Game models take a lot more time than simple sculpts, so I only do that for companies able to pay what it's worth and knowing exactly what they need in terms of design, polycount, topology, and textures. It would cost you a minimum of 1000 euros.

Texelion In reply to RiffyFox [2015-12-14 13:39:06 +0000 UTC]
If we give the files for anyone to print there is a risk they'll start printing and selling them for their own profit. It's not that I don't trust you in particular, but if we make an exception, everybody with a printer will start asking the same, and I'm pretty sure there will be one or two assholes in the bunch who don't care about intellectual property and copyrights.

I want to buy the 15cm version at some point, but I'm a little confused to how they have it shown on the site. It shows the statue blank white in one of the previews along with a bunch of other random colors...does that size not come fully painted as designed or is that not the case and somethings just up with how it's shown on the site?
π: 0 β©: 1
Texelion In reply to PhrozenSoul [2015-11-13 10:38:55 +0000 UTC]
Yeah they removed the full color version because they said the file was corrupted... I tried to contact them and they said they would check that, never heard of them again...
Scratch is on holiday but when he gets back we'll upload a new version. Let's hope it will not be "corrupted" this time.

So, let's see, on a cost per inch basis that works out at:
$13.98 per inch for the 2.7" model,
$14.98 per inch for the 4" model, and:
$22.99 per inch for the 6" model.Β
So, let's see, you're telling me, it costs only:
- $1.00 extra per inch, to scale up 148% from the 2.7" to the 4" model, an increase of 1.3", but
- $8.01 extra per inch, to scale up 150% from the 4" to the 6" model, an increase of 2", or
- $9.01 extra per inch, to scale up 222% from the 2" to the 6" model, an increase of 4"
So, on price, if:
- the 2.7" model @ $37.75 = 100% of the total cost of manufacture
- the 4" model @ $59.95 = $22.2 more than the 2.7" model, a whopping 158% increase in price [over the 2.7" model]
- the 6" model @ $137.95 = $100.2 more than the 2.7" model, a whopping 365% increase in price [over the 2.7" model] and an increase of $78.00 on the 4" model, still a whopping 230% increase in price from 4" to 6"...
And [let's face it] 6" is still tiny!
....Hmmm...
For an item with a void space in the middle and unacceptable levels of banding?
Based on these figures, I don't expect 3D printers to be commercially viable for at least another millennium...Β Three words: "injection moulded plastic".
And yes.Β I understand that the tooling costs are extreme to produce the required mould for IMP.
And yes.Β I think I will keep my money in my pocket until the price point reaches acceptable levels, say:
$1.00 for the 2.7" model,
$2.00 for the 4" model,
$5.00 for the 6" model,
$15.00 for a 1ft model,
$25.00 for a 2ft model.
$125.00 for a 6ft model.

This shit doesn't even make any sense. If you don't want to buy it then STFU and GTFO, stop trying to justify... whatever you're trying to justify. If you want to calculate the price you need the volume, not the size, and between the 10cm and the 15cm, the actual volume of the print doubles, which also doubles the price.
I'm just not hiding this kind of message so people see how stupid you are...
π: 0 β©: 1
SlyFXZ In reply to Texelion [2015-07-28 20:33:13 +0000 UTC]
Please don't hide this message:
If I wanted to calculate the price per volume, volumetric information is required.Β Information I DO NOT HAVE! DUH.
Also, as no one understands volume, it is an essentially meaningless comparison... ...especially if the void space does not correspond proportionally to the height.Β Is the wall thickness the same throughout?
However, people do understand height more readily, therefore a better comparison is made.
Put short, your products are a FRO!
Great customer service BTW: 'STFU' 'GTFO'.Β
Now stick that up your millennium falcon and smoke it!

lovely piece of whatever character this - though I;m extremely upset for you and the bashing of your prices. π: 0 β©: 2
srmalloy In reply to TheGraphicNovelist [2015-07-29 05:45:27 +0000 UTC]
Sandstone is currently the only material that Shapeways can print in full color. They are doing a pilot program with a full-color plastic material, but that's only available to their 'Pilot Program' members, the surface texture isn't as good, and the material cost is four times what the sandstone material is -- which would make the 4" figure cost about $250.
There are always tradeoffs. The basic plastic material is about a third the volume cost -- a ballpark guess is about $50 for the large figure without changing anything, although the material can have thinner walls; at half the thickness, the material cost for the figure would be about $25, although it would be less sturdy -- but what you'd get would be a white plastic figure that you'd have to paint yourself. It may be a viable tradeoff for people that have experience with painting figures (the market for figures from scale miniatures up through large vinyl figure kits shows that), but probably wouldn't be a good fit for most people.
