Lake Baikal is a fascinating place. A mist lurks at the edges of the lake for most of the year, allowing you tantalising glimpses of mountain ranges on the far side of the lake.

The lake temp never gets above 2 degrees and even on a hot summers day, a gentle breeze over the lake can be like an icy blast (actually a good thing on a hot day - kinda like natural aircon!).
