NOTES

This page features Andrés's colors. Andrés worked on some pages of SoD: Jetfire/Grimlock .

Trypticon's space station alt mode is very similar to the Decepticon Space Station seen in Spotlight: Sixshot .

The Six Phases Invasion Protocol, which was originally inspired by Nova Prime's plans (as seen in page 8 of Sod Omega Supreme ) is the same Protocol deployed by the Decepticons in Infiltration , Stormbringer and Escalation .

An example of the disastrous consequences of a War Tech Escalation can be seen in The War Within vol. 2: The Dark Ages.

This page features the "secret" origins of the same Kimia Facility previously described in page 1.
The "unmentionable weapon" is a nod to James Roberts' More Than Meets The Eye comic book. As SoD does not exactly belong to that continuity, our Kimia Facility has a different story, but many things (like Brainstorm's impossible weapons) remain the same.

The term "fringe" was chosen as a nod to tv series Fringe.

The Circuitmaster Boltax clearly survived the fate that befell his peers, the Ancients, in The War Within vol. 3: The Age Of Wrath .
(He became an Ancient in page 5 of SoD: Shockwave/Soundwave ).
Boltax is also featured in Short Story: The Chosen One .

Perceptor is featured in SoD: Blaster and SoD: Magnus , but his personal Spotlight can be found in The Drought: part 1 , The Drought: part 2 , The Drought: part 3 .

Every SoD fan should know what the J'nwan is by now!

Hiding a threat in a extradimensional cage is something the Autobots do often: see what Omega Supreme did to Monstructor in Spotlight: Optimus Prime .

NEXT: the new Metroplex faces the new Trypticon! Plus: the Infiltration Bunker's secret!

Now that would be a Trypticon toy to behold...

Too bad they never started a proper War Within toy line. Only those Titaniums...

Sadly you can't start a toyline for every era and microcontinuity.

The new Trypticon's gonna be taking a lot of ocean baths at the hands of Metroplex, isn't he?

HOLY SWEET PRIMUS

This arc is AMAZING, guys. Just mind-blowingly good. EXCELLENT writing, Franco. It grabbed me hard from page one. I LOVED how you were able to interconnect so many things that we're all wondering about right now with regards to Metroplex and the other titans in the IDW series(s), Kimia, sparks, etc. Way to jump right on a prominent idea and strike while the iron is hot (as it were). !
The art did a great job of showing just how huge these guys are.
And the colors were awesome!! Great work on atmosphere.

HOLY CRAP I AM AMAZED. WELL DONE!!!!!!!!!

Thank you so much, you just made our day

Franco would like to thank (again) Juan Pablo, Gianluca, Ibai and Peter, because this was made possible by their joint efforts.
Juan Pablo created the Hero and the Lawless Times and the Primehood Labours.
Peter created the core concept of the Titans (from the Predator King on).
Gianluca threw in the Professor Kup concepts.
And Ibai developed the whole Living Colony concept.

The story was developed right after Spotlight Metroplex came out. Was it possible to use the same device (gigantic panels) to tell a millennia-spanning story, instead of a single battle?
As Metroplex is gigantic, so was supposed to be the scope of his own story. And why not connecting him to the key events of the Transformers epic? Not only the classic Civil War concept, but the latest and freshest ones: the Interplanetary Cold War belongs to Simon Furman of course (-Ations and Stormbringer), while the Lawless Times are a "Lost Seasons" concept (that exists in the SoD universe as well).
Funnily enough, the story seems to work with the Ironhide miniseries too, but we're not exactly sure!

Thank you again: we'll do our best to put online the remaining pages in a short time!
